Oh my. I finally finished this play suit! Sewing on the buttons was a pain in the behind. And Then I was trying to make button holes, but gave up because the instructions in my sewing machine manual don't make sense so they're unfinished snippets. Oh well! Here it is in all it's glory. I am going to buy some large black and white polka dot fabric to make a sash for it in the future.
Ahh so I know I said I thought I'd finished today, but I am not. The top I had made to attach to the bottoms was too short, so I had to make a center piece to fit it all together. After that I did all the hems, the neckline thing, and cleaned everything up. All that is left to add is buttons and straps. So I will definitely be done if I work on this tomorrow! Sooo exciting
So yesterday I showed you the shorts, today I show you the beginnings of a top. I have to get innovative with fabric because I ran out of the type I needed hah. Soo anyway I just tied a bandana around the tummy (I'm thinking I need to get some of this fabric for the actual belt!!!) and it looks fabulous. I should finish it tomorrow. I have no clue how I am going to attach this all together considering the fabric needs to be longer around the torso so one can sit down...hmmm
Soooo I have begun my journey into making playsuits/rompers. If you do a google search you can easily find what they are. Basically it's a top connected to some shorts. I started on the shorts today and i must say I'm quite proud of myself and already falling in love with what I'm making! And look, it's even got flower print! Yay old 90s material :) So this is the bottom half and tomorrow I will start the top.
So I started on this vest, merrily going along. And then I realized...wow, these measurements are way off. This pattern was an altered version of a pattern I had made last year for a vest that turned out well enough. This one is like 3 sizes too small. Oh well. I'll fix it one day. Maybe I'll embroider a flower on it.
Water color paper post cards. Best invention ever? Or biggest waste of paper ever? It really depends on your water color skills. Mine are here and there. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. This isn't finished yet. I just blew up with frustration at how odd it looked to me. It is a flower however....for the first time in who knows how long...
