FINALLY

Oh my. I finally finished this play suit! Sewing on the buttons was a pain in the behind. And Then I was trying to make button holes, but gave up because the instructions in my sewing machine manual don't make sense so they're unfinished snippets. Oh well! Here it is in all it's glory. I am going to buy some large black and white polka dot fabric to make a sash for it in the future.

Day 86, Playsuit WIP part 3!

Ahh so I know I said I thought I'd finished today, but I am not. The top I had made to attach to the bottoms was too short, so I had to make a center piece to fit it all together. After that I did all the hems, the neckline thing, and cleaned everything up. All that is left to add is buttons and straps. So I will definitely be done if I work on this tomorrow! Sooo exciting

Day 85, Playsuit WIP part two

So yesterday I showed you the shorts, today I show you the beginnings of a top. I have to get innovative with fabric because I ran out of the type I needed hah. Soo anyway I just tied a bandana around the tummy (I'm thinking I need to get some of this fabric for the actual belt!!!) and it looks fabulous. I should finish it tomorrow. I have no clue how I am going to attach this all together considering the fabric needs to be longer around the torso so one can sit down...hmmm

Day 84. Romping Stompin WIP

Soooo I have begun my journey into making playsuits/rompers. If you do a google search you can easily find what they are. Basically it's a top connected to some shorts. I started on the shorts today and i must say I'm quite proud of myself and already falling in love with what I'm making! And look, it's even got flower print! Yay old 90s material :) So this is the bottom half and tomorrow I will start the top.

Day 83...WIP vest

So I started on this vest, merrily going along. And then I realized...wow, these measurements are way off. This pattern was an altered version of a pattern I had made last year for a vest that turned out well enough. This one is like 3 sizes too small. Oh well. I'll fix it one day. Maybe I'll embroider a flower on it.

Day 82, Post card

Water color paper post cards. Best invention ever? Or biggest waste of paper ever? It really depends on your water color skills. Mine are here and there. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. This isn't finished yet. I just blew up with frustration at how odd it looked to me. It is a flower however....for the first time in who knows how long...

Day 81, Nelly was an Elephant!

Ohhhh kay. I actually made this a while ago. I have been lagging on updates of my projects that I had done on my hiatus from blogging. Seeing as I didn't do anything today, I will give you this little pink elephant I sculpted. It's kind of flower colored at least :P

Day 80 Petit Fours

Or my attempt at them anyway.
Ugh...sooo I was craving these so badly after watching all the beautiful pastel colored cakes on the Marie Antoinette movie. So the frosting I made for these was wayyyy way too sweet so I ended up not covering the cakes all the way. Or maybe it was the preserves that I used. Anyway, something was too sugary. The cake itself is divine!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmm...Better luck next time, eh? They're pretty ugly, but whatever. They do taste pretty good.

Day 79 Haeckel inspired

Sooo Ernst Haeckel is well known for his alteration of organisms in his artwork. A quick search will show you his style. In my art class we had to do a piece inspired by him. Here is mine. It combines two different types of lilies, a spider, a pill bug, and a bee.

78....is....fleury?

Sooo I have to show this off. Last year this band was brought to my attention by a friend who basically worships them. I had to know what the hype was about. Unbeknown to them, I absolutely fell in love after listening to some songs. They now have a lovely place in my ipod. Their own little den. Anyway I saw this shirt on clearance a few weeks ago and figured I might as well. I love to reconstruct band shirts. So this started out as a men's medium t-shirt and turned into an adorable puff sleeved off the shoulder shirt :P

Day 77 Pansy update

So let me start you off with an update on my pansies! I didn't snap a picture of them in their hayday, but at the beginning of spring I took this picture. Since then they became even more plush and loveable, but right now they're getting a little overheated with the summer sun and look pretty drab. But I planted these last year. They barely bloomed. They're thriving this year. Love it. And it is DIY considering I planted it!

Resuming flowering goodness....

...80 years later...

Well....okay, not 80 years! But more than a couple months has passed since the last time I updated this blog. It's not that I haven't been crafting, they just haven't been flower themed for the most part or involve flowers in any way.

I will update you on all the craftiful things I did involving flowers. They will of course be in completely random order, but it's the thought that counts, right?

I am going to try to continue the daily blog thing and try to catch up a bit (though I won't get my 365 by January 1), however things are going to change around here. I'm sure anyone who starts looking at this blog again won't mind. I am completely burnt out on flowers. There are only so many flowery doodads you can make in a week. So I will try to do at least one flowery project a week. If I even get to craft every week. At the moment I'm pretty free most days of the week so I will try...oh gosh I will try.

So basically...I am no longer sticking to my theme.
